Emma - Tour Guide
Emma is a native New Yorker, raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Her mother came from Wales in her twenties to New York City where she met and married Emma’s father, a renowned Bronx born fine artist of Russian descent. Emma followed in her father’s footsteps, becoming a painter and sculptor still in her teens. For many years, she exhibited her life-size figurative works at galleries in New York City and the Hamptons. She also created hand-cut and painted tables (dining, bedside, and coffee tables) by commission for many years to clients from all around the globe.
Over the years, Emma attended several of New York City’s colleges: Lang College (part of the New School), Columbia University, City College and Hunter College, finally graduating with a BA in Art History from CUNY in June 2009. She graduated magna cum laude and on the Dean’s List.
A recent sightseeing guide licensee, Emma earned a “star” level on the NYC license exam. She loves her city and showing visitors its many treasures. She lives in Upper Manhattan's Hudson Heights with her two lovely school children (ages 14 & 12), and her wonderful, handsome husband from Trieste, Italy.
Emma loves to read, to visit museums with her husband, and to travel to foreign countries. As a tourist herself, Emma knows how fun it is to see places one has never been before and dedicates her tours to being highly informative, visually memorable, and also fun.
Her favorite part of the city is happily near where she lives: Fort Tryon Park. It is situated at the highest natural point in Manhattan, where you can see glorious views of the Hudson River, walk to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s northern division, The Cloisters, and eat at the beautiful New Leaf Café.
